Chris was a co-founder and co-author of the Children's Advanced Trauma Course in Sheffield in 2012 aimed at Paediatric Trauma Team Leaders and which has now developed into the sister course of Children's Immediate Trauma aimed at Trauma Team Members
Chris has been the Principle Investigator on 2 Multi-centre Randomised Controlled Clinical Trials in the Emergency Department including the MAGNETIC trial published in the Lancet in 2012.
He works in a research active department and oversaw the appointment in Sheffield to one of the UK's first ever Paediatric Academic Emergency Medicine Consultant posts.
He has been involved in the Emergency Department in the CAPIT trial (pneumonia),
and the EcLiPSE trial (epilepsy). He is also involved in research on paediatric traumatic cardiac arrest, safeguarding practice and management of ankle sprains. He is co-author of 5 COVID-19 publications in 2020 on both adult and paediatric aspects of the disease.
